Have you ever wanted to be on the radio? Here’s your chance.
We’re now booking shows for December. Radio Christmas broadcasts live every day from 1 to 24 December, from our studio in Amersham, from the USA and from Central America. That’s a lot of hours to fill, and we’d love you to help fill them.
You don’t need experience
Honestly, you don’t. Some of our best presenters had never touched a microphone before their first show. We’ll help you get ready, and our playout system does the clever technical bits.
Ways to present
- In the studio. Come to our Amersham studio at Amersham Free Church and go live with a member of our team beside you.
- Remotely. Present from home with the help of our technical team.
- Self-tech. Got the kit and know how to use it? Run your own show from wherever you are.
Bring a friend, your family, your church, your choir or your club. Some of our most-loved shows are a group of friends having fun, playing Christmas music and raising money for children.
Not a presenter?
That’s fine too. Radio Christmas runs on volunteers behind the scenes as well. We’re looking for help with:
- Studio tech and audio editing
- Advertising sales and scheduling
- The website and new music
- Preparing and reading the news on the hour
How to book
It takes a couple of minutes. Fill in the short form on our Apply to Volunteer page and tell us how you’d like to help. We read every application, and we’ll email you a link to finish signing up. Once your show is booked, it will appear on the website and in the app automatically, with your photo.
Schools
Schools’ Hour runs every weekday from 1 to 17 December, 10–11am and 11am–12pm. Teachers, please contact our schools team, Nicola Raher and Helen Carmody, to book your slot.
Why it matters
Every show raises money for children in Guatemala and Honduras. Every penny listeners give goes straight to the projects in Central America that help over 800 children every week.
The best Christmas present you can give this year might be three hours of your time and a love of Christmas music.
