This Christmas, thanks to the incredible generosity of our listeners, donors, and supporters, Street Kids Direct brought joy, dignity, and practical support to some of the most vulnerable children and families in Guatemala.
In the days leading up to Christmas, our mentoring centres were filled with laughter, music, and the unmistakable excitement of being remembered and valued. For many of the children we work with, Christmas is usually just another day, marked by hunger, uncertainty, and the realities of life on or around the streets. This year was different.
A Christmas Meal Shared Together
We had the privilege of serving a special Christmas meal to 150 children, many of whom would not normally experience a festive celebration. Tables were set, decorations were hung, and the centres were transformed into places of warmth, fun, and welcome.
There were smiles, songs, games, and moments of real joy. For some, it was their first experience of a proper Christmas celebration. For all, it was a reminder that they are not forgotten.
Supporting Families at Risk
Alongside the celebration at the centre, we also distributed 300 food hampers to families at risk across the communities we serve. These hampers provide essential supplies during one of the hardest times of the year, helping families put food on the table and easing the pressure many face daily.
Each hamper represents more than groceries; it represents hope, stability, and a message of solidarity with families who are doing their best in extremely difficult circumstances.
Made Possible by You
None of this would have been possible without the support of those who listen to Radio Christmas, donate, volunteer, and share our vision. Every song played, every appeal shared, and every donation given has helped turn compassion into action.
As we celebrate Christmas, we are reminded that real change happens when people come together to care for those most in need. Thank you for helping us make this Christmas one of joy, dignity, and hope for children and families in Guatemala.
From all of us at Radio Christmas and Street Kids Direct, and from the children and families you’ve supported, thank you, and Merry Christmas.
