The School Hour returns by popular demand

One of the highlights of Radio Christmas each year is The School Hour — a joyful, energetic showcase of the incredible talent found in our local schools.

Every weekday lunchtime, we hand over the microphones to young people from across the community who bring the station to life with their music, jokes, stories, quizzes, and all-round festive fun. It’s their moment to shine, and they never disappoint!

From brilliant singers and confident presenters to budding comedians and imaginative storytellers, The School Hour gives children the chance to share their creativity while gaining real experience behind the mic. For many students, it’s the first time they’ve ever seen a radio studio — and they leave inspired, buzzing with confidence, and often dreaming of a future in broadcasting.

Most importantly, The School Hour reminds us what Radio Christmas is all about: community, joy, and giving young people a platform to be heard.
